It is no secret that kickers are one of the most underrated aspects of the game of football, both in real life and in our game of fantasy. The importance of the position was on full display in Week 14, as Kansas City Chiefs kicker Matthew Wright notched a game-winning field goal to clinch the AFC West. It wasn’t your average game-winning field goal, however:

That’s right. It was a last-second doink with the perfect bounce that gave the Chiefs a win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and it had just about everyone — including Chiefs fans — in disbelief, leading them to their 15th-consecutive win in single-score games dating back to last season. Just 28% of fantasy managers benefitted from his 16-point day, but regardless, it did offer a perfect metaphor for us to grasp as we head into the playoffs … absolutely anything is possible.
