fter leaving a machine gun in rideshare, rapper Lil Zay Osama was arrested in NYC: Feds

Federal prosecutors say that a rapper known as “Lil Zay Osama,” was arrested in New York City Thursday for allegedly leaving a machine gun in a rideshare vehicle.

Authorities claim that the rapper, Isaiah Dukes, was picked up at a hotel by the rideshare driver. The driver saw that he was carrying a gun and later identified it as a loaded Glock 22,.40 caliber pistol. It was “affixed” with a switch device that made the gun a machine gun.

The driver discovered that Dukes had left his gun in the car after dropping him off with his associates at a Queens recording studio. The driver alerted the police.

According to the Joint Firearms Task Force of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and NYPD, the gun contained one round in its chamber and nine in its magazine.

After the driver identified Dukes as the one with the gun, he was taken into custody and charged with possessing a machine gun and a felon in possession.

Dukes is alleged to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest in two jurisdictions. He also has multiple Illinois felony convictions, including two counts each of robbery, one count of battery, and one charge each of aggravated discharge and robbery in 2014.
