SINGAPORE — Two traffic accidents involving double-decker buses occurred over the past week.

A video posted on Instagram account “sgfollowsall.backup” on Tuesday afternoon (16 April) showed what looks like a double-decker bus which had crashed into a tree, with its windscreen shattered.

A few Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers and SBS Transit staff were seen around the bus attending to the accident. Parts of the tree bark were dislodged and seen on the grass patch next to a footpath.

SCDF said it was alerted to a road traffic accident along Woodlands Avenue 2 on Tuesday at about 9.25am. One person was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Meanwhile, a second accident occured last Thursday (11 April), involving an off-service double-decker bus that was turning into Yishun Bus Interchange at about 6.30am.

Photos posted on Facebook group “Singapore roads accident.com” on Friday showed what looked like the right front side of the bus crashed into a wall, with a dislodged and smashed windshield. Shattered glass can be seen all over the ground.

“No one, including our bus captain, was conveyed to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, we are looking into the incident,” said SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu.
