Coco Gauff continues the defence of her US Open title today against fellow American Emma Navarro, who beat at Wimbledon in July, in the fourth round.

Frances Tiafoe resumes his quest to become the first American man to claim the US Open title since Andy Roddick 21 years ago when he takes on Alexei Popyrin, who sensationally knocked out Novak Djokovic on Friday, in the night session.

“He’s a very tricky player. Probably has one of the best hands on tour, comes into the net a lot, likes to mix it up,” Popyrin said. “That’s going to be the tough part.”

Elsewhere, the likes of Alexander Zverev and Aryna Sabalenka are also in action while Briton Heather Watson plays in the women’s doubles.

Emma Raducanu was knocked out by Sofia Kenin in a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 defeat on the Grandstand court.

It looked like it could be a short outing as Kenin rattled through the first set, but Raducanu made a match of it by sending it to three sets.

A costly service game midway through the decider proved costly as the former champion headed home.

Having played just one tournament since Wimbledon and skipping the Olympics to focus on her preparation for the US Open, she will be desperately disappointed to fall at the first hurdle and questions remain over the direction of her career.
