President Biden is set to brief the press Wednesday afternoon on the recent deal reached between Israel and Palestinian group Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza and hostage release plan.
An Israeli official confirmed Wednesday that a deal has been reached and predicted it would quickly move through a formal approval process.
The agreement would open the door for a possible end to more than a year of fighting since Hama’s Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack against Israel, and Israel’s subsequent war against the group in the Gaza Strip.
He is expected to give remarks from the White House at 2:00 p.m. EST.
