Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), former President Trump’s running mate, is holding a rally in the battleground state of Pennsylvania Saturday evening.
The event comes just days before Vance is set to debate his Democratic counterpart, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. CBS News, who is moderating the forum, released the rules for the debate Friday.
Former President Trump, who is campaigning in Wisconsin Saturday, is scheduled to return to the Keystone State Sunday with a rally in Erie, Pa. He will make another visit late next week, holding a campaign event in the same place where he faced an assassination attempt earlier this summer.
The race in Pennsylvania remains tight with Trump trailing Vice President Harris by almost 2 points — 49.2 percent to 47.9 percent — according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index.
Vance is scheduled to give remarks in Newtown, Pa., at 5:15 p.m. EDT.
