White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is delivering a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon.
President Biden earlier in the day spoke at a ceremony for the Holocaust Days of Remembrance. Biden condemned those who he characterized as having already forgotten the horrors of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Hamas.
The administration continues to walk a fine line between its pledged unwavering support for Israel and its criticism of the choices Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made regarding its operations in Gaza. Within the last 24 hours, Israel has advanced into the southern Gaza community of Rafah, an action that U.S. officials had advised against.
The briefing is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. EDT.
